Precursor knowledge

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the delay in updating contents here. We’ve got many options and ways by which we can create and redistribute the resources here. After a long period of discussions and debates we’ve come to the opinion that we’ll be using Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) tools for resource creation. Users are encouraged to go on and install any Open source Operating System software. We’ll be providing you with links to those free soft wares which one can use in windows and also in Linux based OS’s like Ubuntu, Debian etc. For more queries you can contact us here.

Few readings for you before we start off with introduction to each subject/ topic.

  1. Introduction to FOSS
  2. Important to know about the licences before you give start creating and sharing resources. General overview
  3. We’ll be mostly using Creative commons. Read more about it.
  4. What is linux and how its different from other Operating Systems?
  5. Different available linux based Operating Systems

We’ll be writing a separate articles about FOSS tools which we will be using and also about few distributions which we recommend for everyday users. Above readings are extremely important because one needs to understand the importance of resource creation in free environment. There is a wider understanding to what we do and why we do this, we want our users also to incorporate these in their works.

We’re not some Open source software vigilantes who push for using them but our motive is- why go for costly tools when there are parallel free and good tools which can be used for better resource creation? These are only precursor readings and we’ll be back with content soon. Please read them and suggest additional resources which we can add or use.

All the best

P-team
